A simply huge and truly magnificent 14ft Antique Grand Victorian Burr Walnut dining table. An exquisite and quite simply stunning Antique Victorian Burr Walnut Grand dining table with 2 add in table leaves, professionally French polished by CMC Designs UK. Burr Walnut refers to the swirling figure present in nearly all walnut when cut and polished, and especially in the wood taken from the base of the tree where it joins the roots. However the true burr is a rare growth on the tree where hundreds of tiny branches have started to grow. Its a truly magnificent example of the classic Victorian period. Where Walnut was favoured for the fashionable dining room, although dining tables were still generally in mahogany, with fluted legs. Its been finely constructed by English cabinet makers using all there skills to great effect with the extra leafs & table connecting with brass clips. And has stayed in the capital all its life until now.
