7.6ft Stunning Burr Walnut Jupe circular dining table, pro French Polished

A truly magnificent Burr Walnut Jupe extending circular Grand dining table. One of the very finest we have ever seen, or for sale anywhere in the world today! This has been finely crafted from some of the best English cabinet makers. We have also added in photos of another Burr Walnut Jupe table as a perception of how we could change the colour of this one, from the light colour to a more traditional deep rich Burr Walnut colour!

Burr Walnut refers to the swirling figure present in nearly all walnut when cut and polished, and especially in the wood taken from the base of the tree where it joins the roots. However the true burr is a rare growth on the tree where hundreds of tiny branches have started to grow. The varieties of Walnut wood have been used in furniture making for many centuries. Walnut veneer was highly priced, with the cost reflecting the fanciness of the veneer the more decorative, then the more expensive and desirable. Figured Walnut and Burr Walnut (sometimes referred to as Burl Walnut) were considered as the most attractive varieties of Walnut.

Burr Walnut veneer was taken from the specific part of the tree where growths sprouting smaller branches and/ or roots would occur. As these growth areas were limited in both occurrence and size, larger veneers were hard to source and often on bigger furniture (tables, desks, bureaus, cabinets etc), these veneers would have to be carefully joined by matching up the pieces or blending them together. Smallest: The central portion is 1300mm, 130cm, 51 inches, 4.3ft, diameter (seats 6). Add the 6 medium size panels (which easily slot in) allows seating of (8-10) 1900mm, 6.2ft, 74 inches.

Largest panels allow seating of 12-14 with a diameter of 2300mm, 7.6ft, 230cm or 90 inches. The birch table top is veneered with burr ash on the face and crown cut ash on the underside. The base is English walnut, in a 6 pointed leaf shape, supporting tapered petals in English Ash.

It will have been French polished in the traditional natural warm Burr Walnut colour to show off the beautiful patterned movement in the eye catching top & will have once again that deep lustrous shine & gleam to it that still only hand French polishing can achieve using the very finest modern table top French Polishes & materials to obtain the stunning finish we desire.
