Antique Mahogany Butler Tea Table with Removable Tea Tray Chippendale Style. This table was made c. 1910 and is a reproduction of the Chippendale Style with the term legs and the reticulated raised gallery on the removable tea tray. Beautiful hand carved detail all the way around the tray.
In excellent condition - considering its age - very sturdy base and the top (removable) tea tray fits beautifully. There are some expected scuffs and scratches (see pictures for details) and a very small missing (broken) piece on the tea tray. I cant tell who the maker is because the name is covered by a sticker that (I assume) was adhered to the bottom of the table when it was refurbished.
I cant remove the sticker without damaging it so I will not attempt to do so. There is no date on it (I wish there was) but this is what the sticker under the table says. Loving Detroit For Half a Century. After some research I found Leo A. Ziske advertising his restoration business in the Detroit Free Press on March 5th, 1922. I wish I knew more but thats about all I could find out with my very limited knowledge! I do know this is a very beautiful and unique antique piece. Whether you enjoy it as it sits today or decide to restore it again to its original perfection, its sure to be a very special addition to any home. Moving & everything must go!
