Width - 25" to 41" Depth - 15.75" Height - 20.75". Some finish wear and crazing to top. Crafted around the year 1960, this antique coffee table is a unique and compelling piece.
As functional as it is beautiful, this table has been fitted with a traditional drop leaf design. Overall it remains in good condition.
The selection of mahogany used to craft this coffee table is quite fine. The original cabinetmaker would have treated the mahogany to an elaborate finishing process that included several stages.
As you can see, the top has a beautiful grain and color that is bordered by a mahogany cross band inlay. The drop leaf design of this antique coffee table is quite impressive. Not only is the design itself quite attractive, but it is also very useful. With the leaves down, this coffee table measures 25 in length, but when they are lifted it measures 41 long.
As a result this coffee table can allow for more space in the living room or office during normal use but when guests or over and extra surface area is needed, the leaves can be lifted in seconds. In addition to the natural beauty of the mahogany and the flexible drop leaf design, this table also features a number of beautiful design elements. These include the bamboo-esque turned legs. Also, the piece features two drawers on one side adorned with pierced brass Chippendale style pulls.
This final touch makes this antique coffee table appear more elegant and formal, perfect for any period English home or office furniture collection! The top has sustained some finish wear/ crazing and the the banding has minor age separations. One of the back feet has a sturdy repair. Finally, there are a few minor marks to the wood here and there. Overall, the coffee table is quite sturdy.
