Restored Antique Mahogany Thomas Chippendale Large Fret Work Carved Coffee Table
Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this. Stunning, fully restored, antique fret work carved Thomas Chippendale style large coffee table circa 1890.
In a modern sense this would be classed as a coffee table, but the traditional use was for silver items to be laid out for display, they then went to tea tables where again you would have luxury services laid out. The timber is all solid mahogany, the fret work carving is nicely executed. This has been fully restored by my French polisher, it still has some period patina marks here and there which were left in as they are right for the piece and age. For those that know what this is, it's considered the height of class style and sophistication.

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. Whomever delivers will always require help on the larger items to unload, the price you will be quoted will always be based on this assumption, if this is not possible, please let us know as it will affect the price to send a two-person team.
